Murcia-San Javier Airport is a military air base and civilian passenger airport located in San Javier, 17 miles south of Murcia, Spain. It is operated by Aena (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea), the Spanish airport authority.
Because Murcia is a popular destination for charter groups, the airport is served by a number of charter airlines.
Flying to Murcia-San Javier from somewhere like the UK gives one the choice of five airlines offering regular, scheduled flights from 16 different UK airports with low cost carriers such as easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair, Monarch Scheduled and bmibaby.
Although the airport is on the Costa Cálida, it also lends itself well to people travelling to the southern tip of the Costa Blanca, particularly resort towns such as Torrevieja.
Most important airlines operating at Murcia airport: airberlin, bmibaby, Girjet, easyJet, Iberia, Jet2.com, Monarch Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Sterling Airlines.
